Makenzie Falcon was crowned Miss South Dakota Teen USA 2016 on Oct 4, 2015. She is 18 years old from Aberdeen and stands 5'7" tall.She had previously competed in the 2015 pageant where she finished as a semifinalist. She succeeds Marley Hanson of last year and will now represent her state at the 2016 Miss Teen USA pageant where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss Teen USA 2015 Katherine Kaik

Makenzie is currently stduying at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she is double majoring in Political Science and Global Studies with a minor in Human Rights & Humanitarian Affairs. She is also a member of the Honors Program and the Pre-Law Program. Her future ambition is to work in the field of immigration law and someday serve as a U.S. senator. In pursuit of her dream, she has been involved in the political process during these years- she volunteered at a local campaign office and attended the American Legion Auxilary's Girls State program, where she was then one of two girls selected to represent South Dakota in Washington D.C. at Girls Nation. There, Makenzie had the opportunity to meet with the South Dakota state senators and representative, as well as President Barack Obama.

South Dakota is also least successful in Miss Teen USA just like Miss USA pageant. Its one and only finalist placement was in 1986 when Valarie Marsden finished as 4th runner up. Lisa Williamson was the last placement of South dakota when she finished as a semifinalist in 1989.  Do you think Makenzie Falcon can make a better record for her state in the next edition of Miss Teen USA?
