Teale Shawn Murdock was crowned Miss Utah USA 2016 at the end of the finale held in Salt Lake City. The 23 years old beauty queen from Bountiful was crowned by her predecessor, Miss Utah USA 2015 Nicol Powell. She will represent Utah at Miss USA 2016 next year. AbbyJade Larson is the state's representative at Miss Teen USA 2016 pageant.

She entered the pageant as Miss City Creek and defeated 41 other contestants from all over Utah to clinch to the crown. Murdock majors in Communications at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Her hobbies are snowboarding, swimming, traveling, makeup artistry, modeling, pageants, working out, watching movies, reading, writing, coaching little girls for their upcoming pageants, trying new foods, listening to all genres of music and playing with her dog.

Utah is one of the successful states at Miss USA pageant had won 2 crowns, though over 50 years ago. The two winners were Miss Utah USA 1957 Charlotte Sheffield and Miss Utah USA 1960 Linda Bement. Bement was later crowned Miss Universe. Sheffield represented the United States as Miss World United States at the Miss World Pageant.
